We apply makeup hoping that when we look in the mirror in the evening, we will see the same beautiful face we saw in the morning after applying makeup. However, sometimes even during the day, our makeup might have "absorbed," "slipped off," or we simply no longer look fresh and beautiful. And it's not necessarily the products' fault. Often, we ourselves make mistakes or rush too much. So, here are the most common makeup mistakes:

💄 1. Incorrectly chosen foundation shade

  • Often, a shade that is too dark or too light is chosen, resulting in a mask-like appearance or a tired face.
  • Recommendation: consult with someone knowledgeable, and when buying foundation, test it on your jawline, not your hand.

🎨 2. Too much product (cakey effect)

  • Too thick a layer of foundation or powder can look unnatural.
  • Solution: use less and apply a second thin layer to conceal problem areas.

🧴 3. Makeup without skin preparation – shorter wear time

  • If you don't use a primer, firstly, makeup won't spread evenly on the skin; secondly, it won't apply smoothly; and thirdly, it won't last as long and will either "absorb" into the skin or simply "disappear" somewhere. Additionally, a primer always creates a barrier between the skin and foundation, thus nurturing the facial skin.
  • Good skin preparation = always longer-lasting makeup.

🖌️ 4. Poorly blended eyeshadow or contour

  • Harsh lines and patches look unnatural, sometimes dirty, or distort features.
  • Solution: use clean brushes and take your time blending.

👁️ 5. Incorrectly emphasized eyebrows

  • Eyebrows that are too dark, too thick, or too sharply defined can look unnatural.
  • Best practice: follow your natural shape and choose a shade close to your hair color.

💋 6. Lip contour too harsh or inaccurate

  • The lip liner should be soft, blending with the lipstick.
  • Remember: the lip pencil should be the same shade or just a slightly darker tone.

7. Too much highlighter

  • A glowing, dewy skin is both very trendy and beautiful, but overdoing it or applying it in the wrong places can make the skin look simply oily.
  • Apply only to the highest points of the face: cheekbones, bridge of the nose, above the lip, and possibly on the décolletage or collarbones.

🌧️ 8. Unset makeup for oily skin

  • Without setting powder or spray, makeup wears off and "disappears" faster, which is especially important for oilier skin.
  • We recommend carrying a compact powder in your handbag to touch up your skin during the day or having oil-absorbing sheets.
